Con 194 incidentes eliminados, permanecen treinta y cuatro que contienen alguna evidencia pero no tienen aparentemente lista una explicación. Esta declaración es cierta sólo bajo la suposición de que la evidencia es aceptada como fiable y precisa. Cuando se toman en consideración factores psicológicos y fisiológicos, todos estos incidentes pueden ser explicados racionalmente, como lo señaló la Rand Corporation y (ilegible) del Laboratorio Aero-Médico del Comando del Material Aéreo (Ver apartados «B» y «C»)

La mayoría fueron distribuidos sin patrón a través de los Estados Unidos. Unos pocos fueron fuera de los EE.UU. No hay dos descripciones de apariencia o comportamiento exactamente iguales. Aproximadamente a las 1:15 p. m. el científico-ingeniero de cohetes Dr. Carl J. Zohn, Asistente de administración, Rocket Sonde Section, USN Naval Research Lab (NRL) asignado temporalmente a White Sands Proving Ground (WSPG), y el científico de NRL Curtis C. Rockwood y su esposa, y el técnico de WSPG John R. Kauke, circulaban en un coche de Las Cruces (106:34:0 O 33:33:0 N, a unas 15-20 millas al ENE de Las Cruces, Nuevo México) a WSPG dirigiéndose al NE cuando vieron a su delantera derecha (E) un disco o esfera plateado brillante giratorio sin apéndices, alas, cola, hélices, que reflejaba la luz del sol, cruzando el cielo a gran velocidad dirigiéndose al N a unos 8,000-10,000 pies, que de repente desapareció en el aire en un cielo claro sin nubes. Kauke había detenido el coche y brevemente vio un corto rastro de vapor en un momento dado, no informado por los demás. Zohn en el lado del pasajero bajó la ventanilla para una vista sin obstáculos. La información dada aquí es insuficiente para llegar a cualquier conclusión definitiva, pero no es imposible que el objeto observado fuera meteórico. Sin embargo, el tiempo estimado a la vista es bastante largo, y, si un meteoro, (ilegible) ha tenido (ilegible) estela de vapor. La reflexión especular solar que parece cambiar de intensidad puede, por supuesto, haber sido luz del meteoro mismo, mezclada con la luz solar.
Una vez más, es desafortunado que no se hicieran observaciones más detalladas.

El Sr. Kauke quien estaba conduciendo el auto fue el primero en notar el objeto. Él llamó la atención de los otros ocupantes. Luego el Sr. Zohn abrió la ventana cerca de él y observó el objeto moviéndose a una velocidad desconocida rápida a una altura desconocida (que él estima en 10,000 pies) y que el Sr. Kauke piensa que estaba entre 8,000 y 10,000 pies. Cuando observaron por primera vez el objeto estaba a su derecha y adelante del automóvil a una elevación no establecida y aparentemente moviéndose horizontalmente en una dirección Norte como cruzando la autopista de derecha a izquierda. El objeto fue visto por todos los ocupantes de la máquina. El Sr. Zohn no pudo observar otros detalles más que la forma era uniforme sin protuberancias tales como alas de un avión. Estaba tan distante para hacer posible una visualización estereoscópica. 1. A solicitud del Teniente Coronel G. D. Garrett, AAF A-2, el abajo firmante ha entrevistado en esta fecha al Sr. C. H. Zohn, Asistente Administrativo en el Rocket Sonde Section, NRL, quien previamente había liberado información a la prensa relativa a un objeto aéreo que él declara que vio en White Sands, Nuevo México, el 29 de junio.
2. La substancia de la entrevista es como sigue:
Entre la 1:00 y la 1:30 p. m. del domingo, 29 de junio de 1947, el Sr. Zohn, en compañía de los siguientes: Sr. J. R. Kauke, supervisor de telemetría en NRL Rocket Sonde Section; Sr. C. C. Rockwood, científico de espectrógrafo de gran altura en NRL Rocket Sonde; y la Sra. Nancy Rockwood, esposa del último, iban por la Autopista 17 en una dirección Norte-Este de Las Cruces, Nuevo México a los terrenos de disparo del V-2 en White Sands en un automóvil conducido por el Sr. Kauke.
