Mientras estaba en ruta de Great Falls, Montana, a Fairfield-Suisun AF en la noche del 30 Dic 47, un posible avistamiento de cohete fue hecho por el piloto (Teniente Coronel W. W. Jones, Cuartel EPW) y el copiloto (Mayor A. A. Andrae, Cuartel EPW). El avión estaba a 13,000 pies. Un objeto no identificable con estela verde y flamas azules fue visto por un periodo de 2 segundos. El objeto estaba descendiendo verticalmente a una velocidad muy alta y pareció frenar ligeramente cuando se acercó al terreno. El objeto apareció en la posición 2:30 en relación con el avión y las flamas eran intensamente brillantes.

1. Mientras estaba en un vuelo administrativo desde Great Falls, Montana, a Fairfield-Suisun Airfield, en la noche del 30 de diciembre de 1947, el piloto , teniente Coronel W. W. Jones, Cuarteles, EPW y el copiloto Mayor A. A. Andrae, Cuarteles, EPW, hicieron un avistamiento de un posible cohete, desde un aeroplano C-54. A las 1926 horas PST, en la locación 42° 09.3″™ N, 114° 22.2´ O (cerca del punto de reunión de las fronteras de los estados de Nevada, Utah y Idaho) mientras cruzaban a 13,000 pies un objeto no identificado, dejando una estela verde y flamas azules, fue visto por un periodo de dos segundos. El objeto estaba descendiendo verticalmente a una gran velocidad y pareció frenar ligeramente cuando se acercó al terreno. El objeto apareció en la posición 2:30 del reloj en relación con el aeroplano, y las flamas eran intensamente brillantes.
2. Se recibió un reporte en la torre de Fairfield-Suisun de la torre del Aeropuerto de McClellan en Sacramento indicando que se había recibido un informe del Sacramento Air Depot C-47 vuelo #7488 cerca de Rosedale, California, al efecto de que fue avistado un objeto a las 1925 horas PST dejando una estela de varios colores de una flama predominantemente rojo y verde. El objeto estaba viajando a gran velocidad a baja altura del Este hacia algunas colinas a aproximadamente 38° 50″™ N, 121° 02″™ O. La torre de McClelland pidió al piloto que investigara y a las 1958 el piloto reportó un pequeño fuego a 38° 50″™ N y 120° 53″™ O que comenzó a agrandarse considerablemente. La torre de Fairfield pidió a un vuelo nocturno local C-47 que también investigara el fuego por un posible accidente aéreo y el piloto reportó sobre el fuego a las 1937 horas PST en una posición de 38° 50″™ N y 120° 53″™ O. El fuego se estaba quemando en una forma triangular sobre un área pequeña y se apagó a las 2155. Dos puntos particulares en el fuego parecían quemarse con una flama brillante azul verdosa.
Como resultado de la anterior actividad del 30 de Diciembre de 1947, Air Sea Rescue con base en Hamilton Field fue notificada y se entiende

Asunto: Reporte sobre posible avistamiento de misil
que ellos despacharon un avión a la zona del incendio. La Patrulla de Caminos de California fue despachada a la escena del incendio y sus hallazgos serán reportados tan pronto como sea posible.
3. La torre de control de Fairfield obtuvo un reporte aproximadamente las 2300 horas PST, del 30 de diciembre de 1947, de Control de Vuelos de Hamilton Field, de que un motorista en la Autopista #40 U. S., treinta millas al Oeste de Lovelock, Nevada, aproximadamente 39° 53″™ N, 118° 53″™ O había visto un objeto explotar en el aire a las 1926, 1200 a 1300 pies en el aire.
4. La torre de control de Fairfield obtuvo un reporte del Oakland Airport Flight Control (CAA), a aproximadamente las 2315 horas PST, del 30 de diciembre de 1947, del vuelo 191 de United Airlines procedente de vías aéreas entre Medford, Oregón y Monte Shasta, California, que observó un destello a las 1925 horas PST, justo al Norte de su posición.

OBJETOS AÉREOS NO IDENTIFICADOS: El A-2 del Ala del Pacífico oriental, División del Pacífico, Comando del Transporte Aéreo informa las siguientes cuatro observaciones de objetos aéreos no identificados, todos ocurridos en los estados del Oeste a las 1925 o 1926 horas Pacific Standard Time (PST) del 30 de diciembre de 1947.
