Asunto: «Disco Volador»
Resumen de información:
Entrevistas con el Sr. Elmer L. Brimberry y su esposa, Anderson Road, Houston, Texas, relativas a la observación reportada de un «disco volador» el 8 de noviembre de 1947, reveló que la descripción del objeto en cuestión posiblemente pudo haber sido una de dos cosas, e. d., un cometa o un disco volador.
La descripción del objeto por el Sr. Brimberry varía considerablemente de la dada por la Sra. Brimberry.
De acuerdo con el Sr. Brimberry, el tiempo del incidente fue justo antes de que amaneciera. Él y su esposa se habían despertado. Mientras permanecían en la cama, la Sra. Brimberry repentinamente exclamó «Viste eso» y él contestó «Sí, lo vi». El objeto había completado su descenso al momento de la última exclamación. Parecía haber caído en un campo adyacente a su residencia y parecía haber «desaparecido» varios pies antes de alcanzar el terreno. El Sr. Brimberry describió el objeto como siendo «casi redondo, tal vez un poco oval o en forma de platillo, y dando una luz brillante. Parecía estar girando». El Sr. Brimberry relató que él no había informado el incidente a los periódicos por dos razones. Primero, él es empleado del Departamento de Justicia, Servicio de Inmigración, y la publicidad resultante de tal incidente no está de acuerdo con su posición. Segundo, él pensó que alguien más probablemente vio el mismo objeto y por lo tanto pronto aparecería en los periódicos locales. Sin embargo, al presente no se conoce ninguna otra persona que haya presenciado esta ocurrencia.
La Sra. Brimberry describió el objeto como «una gran bola redonda de fuego de alrededor de veintiséis (26) a treinta (30) pulgadas de diámetro, con una «cola» de aproximadamente veinte (20) pies de longitud. Esta «cola» parecía haber disminuido mientras se aproximaba al terreno. (El Sr. Brimberry afirma que no había una «cola» cuando observó el objeto). Parecía haber «desaparecido» repentinamente justo antes de alcanzar la Tierra. Es posible que pudiera haber golpeado el terreno a una gran distancia, pero pareció haber aterrizado en el campo vacante adyacente a su casa. Este campo es de alrededor de dieciocho acres en área. La Sra. Brimberry mantiene que el incidente ocurrió «justo antes de que saliera el sol; había bastante luz afuera».

Fue discutida la posibilidad de que esto haya sido una ilusión, causada por un reflejo a través de una ventana. Un edificio, que tiene una gran placa de ventanas de vidrio, está localizado a través del campo desde la residencia del Sr. Brimberry y su esposa. Las luces de un automóvil pasando pudieron haber entrado en contacto con las grandes ventanas causando el reflejo. Este edificio está casi en una línea directa con la residencia, con respecto al lugar donde el objeto supuestamente fue visto haber golpeado el terreno.
El 16 de diciembre de 1947, se hizo una investigación extensiva en el campo en el cual objeto supuestamente había caído «“ no se encontró ninguna traza. La lluvia había caído en este campo por alrededor de tres semanas, minimizando así la posibilidad de encontrar trazas del objeto. Sin embargo, la Sra. Brimberry relató que sus dos hijos habían investigado el campo poco después del incidente. No encontraron nada de interés.

Mientras estaban en ruta de Great Falls, Montana, a Fairfield-Suisun AF en la noche del 30 Dic 47, un posible avistamiento de cohete fue hecho por el piloto (Teniente Coronel W. W. Jones, Hq. 1. Mientras estaban en un vuelo administrativo de Great Falls, Montana, a Fairfield-Suisun AF en la noche del 30 de diciembre de 1947, un posible avistamiento de cohete fue hecho por el piloto (Teniente Coronel W. W. Jones, Hq. EPW) y el copiloto (Mayor A. A. Andres, Hq. EPW) del aeroplano C-54. La observación fue hecha a las 1926 Pacific Standard Time, lugar 42° 09.3″™ N 114° 22.2″™ O. El aeroplano estaba cruzando a 13,000 pies. Un objeto inidentificable con estela verde y flamas azules fue visto por un periodo de 2 segundos. El objeto estaba descendiendo verticalmente a una gran velocidad y pareció detenerse ligeramente al acercarse al terreno. El objeto apareció en una posición 2:30 en relación con el avión y las flamas eran intensamente brillantes.
2. Un informe fue recibido en la torre de Fairfield-Suisun de la torre McClellan Airfield en Sacramento diciendo que se había recibido un informe de Sacramento Air Depot C-47 #7488 volando cerca de Rosedale, California, al efecto de que un objeto fue avistado a las 1925 Pacific Standard Time con una estela de varios colores de flama con el rojo y el verde predominando. El objeto estaba viajando a una gran velocidad y a baja altura en dirección Este hacia algunas colinas aproximadamente a 38° 50″™ N, 121° 02″™ O. La torre en McClellan pidió al piloto que investigara y a las 1958 el piloto informó un pequeño fuego a 38° 50″™ N y 120° 53″™ O que se hizo considerablemente grande. La torre de Fairfield solicitó a un vuelo nocturno local C-47 que también investigara el fuego por un posible accidente de aeronave y el piloto informó del fuego a las 1937 Pacific Standard Time en la posición 38° 50″™ N y 120° 53″™ O. El fuego se estaba quemando en una forma triangular sobre una pequeña zona y se apagó a las 2155. Dos puntos particulares del fuego parecían quemarse con una flama azul verde brillante.
Como resultado de la actividad anterior del 30 de diciembre de 1947, Air Sea Rescue localizada en Hamilton Field fue notificada y se entiende

que ellos despacharían un aeroplano a la escena del fuego. La California Highway Patrol fue despachada a la escena del fuego y sus hallazgos serán informados tan pronto como sea posible.
3. La torre de control de Fairfield obtuvo un informe aproximadamente a las 2300 EST, del 30 de diciembre de 1947, de Hamilton Field Flight Control, que un motorista de la U S Highway #40, treinta millas al Oeste de Lovelock, Nevada, aproximadamente a 39° 53″™ N, 118° 53″™ O había visto un objeto explotar en el aire a las 1926, a 1,200 o 1,300 pies en el aire.
4. La torre de control de Fairfield obtuvo un informe de Oakland Airport Flight Control (CAA), aproximadamente a las 2315 EST, del 30 de diciembre de 1947, que el vuelo 191 de United Airlines procediendo sobre la vía aérea entre Medford, Oregón y Mount Shasta observó un destello a las 1925 EST justo al Norte de su posición.
